Soraya plays an active leadership role in estate planning law at the national level. She has served as a director of The Estate Law Specialist Board, an ABA-accredited, attorney-run subsidiary of the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils, for the past three years, contributing to the administration of the only national board certification for attorneys as Estate Planning Law Specialists (EPLS).

With a passion for philanthropy, particularly in the arts and sciences, Soraya currently serves on the board of directors for Classical Tahoe, the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival, and the Georgetown Law Board of Visitors. Her commitment to healthcare and science is evident in her past service on the University of Nevada Planned Giving Advisory Council, the Desert Research Institute (DRI) Foundation, and the Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare Foundation, where she served as Board President for four years. She is also the current President and Chair of Triage Cancer, a national nonprofit that provides free education on legal and practical issues for individuals dealing with a cancer diagnosis. She is also a proud member of Nevada Women’s Philanthropy.

Soraya is licensed to practice in California with a specialization in estate planning, in addition to Nevada and New York.
